2017 Total Solar Eclipse Resources

Like many photographers in North America, Moving Images LLC has been working hard in preparations for what is arguably one of the most unique photographic opportunities in our life times.  "Americas Eclipse" has even more interest for us, and our immediate neighbors, as we are lucky enough to actually live in the direct path of the Solar Eclipse Totality.
Moving Images LLC would like to share the knowledge gained from researching this event with its neighbors, photographers and non-photographers alike.  Everyone needs to know how to protect the safety of themselves, and their families.  And of course, knowing what to expect can help everyone enjoy this special event.  Check back often to this page, as more information will continue to be added as the eclipse approaches, and after the eclipse as well.

Presentation at Neely Farm on "Everything You Need to Know About Solar Eclipses"
Randy Christ, owner of Moving Images LLC and a long time Neely Farm resident, is working with the Neely Farm Social Committee to host an event at the Neely Farm club house to discuss everything you need to know to prepare for the Solar Eclipse.  The date is Tuesday, July 25th, starting at 7:30 pm.
This presentation will be in two parts.  The first part of the presentation will be a general interest discussion, suitable for all who live in the shadow of the eclipse.  Topics include Safety, where and how to view the eclipse, Safety, what caused the eclipse, and of course, Safety.  This will be a fun and informative discussion that should prepare parents, students, and all interested in the eclipse to be prepared to enjoy an amazing, once in a life time event.
After a short break, the second part of the presentation will focus (pun intended) on HOW to photograph the eclipse, what you can shoot, and safety.  This will cover photography with smart phones through hard core DSLRs.  Bring your questions.  We can go into as much technical depth as the attendees desire.  Solar filters, tripods, exposures,  and strategies will be discussed.  Questions raised in the meeting can be discussed further on this web site.
